Sarasota Jewish Theatre Unveils 2026-27 Season of Powerful Stories, Music and Survival (suncoastpost.com) — Sarasota theater lovers can look forward to a full 2026–27 Sarasota Jewish Theatre season, with new locally written drama, a Lauren Molina concert, and three mainstage productions at venues across the city. Performances run from October 2026 through May 2027 at The Sarasota Players, Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe, and Payne Park Auditorium, with subscriptions and single tickets now available.
2. Sarasota's Key Chorale finds new ways to tell stories in music (heraldtribune.com) — Key Chorale is launching its 42nd season with an ambitious lineup of concerts and collaborations at venues across Sarasota, from First United Methodist and Sarasota Opera House to Church of the Palms. Local audiences can look forward to programs ranging from a candlelit choral experience and folk music history to Mozart–Salieri concerts, youth showcases, and a Leonardo da Vinci-inspired multimedia work.
3. Completed I-75 interchange project brings more color at Clark Road (yourobserver.com) — Drivers using the I-75 and Clark Road diverging diamond in Sarasota will soon see hundreds of new trees, including royal poincianas, as part of a $52.6 million interchange project that's now complete. State Sen. Joe Gruters and local officials marked the start of the beautification phase, with similar landscaping planned for the Fruitville Road interchange expected by 2029.
4. Exclusive downtown Sarasota dinner club plans remain in park (yourobserver.com) — Sarasota's Planning Board has again delayed a decision on the 1000 North Sarasota private dinner club while developers rework a contentious parking plan at the BLVD Sarasota condo tower. With residents worried about valet operations and access, the dispute now mixes city code requirements with a civil fight between the club and condo association, leaving downtown neighbors waiting on a new hearing date.
5. Historic downtown Sarasota building listed for $3.28 million (miamiherald.com) — A historic 1925 building in downtown Sarasota, formerly home to Bavaro's Pizza Napoletana and Pastaria, has hit the market for $3.28 million, far above the county's average price per square foot. The 4,169-square-foot property near Washington Boulevard and the Regal Hollywood theater offers 50 parking spaces and a turnkey restaurant setup, creating a notable opportunity for new downtown dining or retail.
