SARASOTA COUNTY, FL — A 68-year-old Bradenton man died Saturday after his SUV veered off a Sarasota County road and crashed into a ditch and tree, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened around 12:45 p.m. on Saddle Creek Trail, north of State Road 72 (Clark Road).
Troopers said the man was driving a blue Chevrolet Traverse northbound when he experienced a possible medical episode.
The SUV veered to the right, left the roadway and struck a ditch and tree, according to FHP.
Police said the driver died at the scene. Authorities have not released his identity or confirmed whether a medical emergency contributed to his death.
The crash remains under investigation.
