Local entrepreneur Debbie Trice has launched The Personal Safety Net, an automated service for healthy adults who value their freedom but want security, too. With The Personal Safety Net, members log into the company website daily. If the member does not log in by a pre-selected deadline and doesn’t answer the phone, a company representative will contact a series of trusted friends and/or family members to assume responsibility for getting whatever help the member may need. Most adults who live alone block out concerns that days can pass before anyone will miss them enough to actually check on them.
