Armed Bank Robber Caught In Orlando: Sarasota County Sheriff

SARASOTA, FL — An armed bank robber who walked away with an unspecified amount of cash after robbing the Wells Fargo at 3625 Bee Ridge Road in Sarasota on Wednesday is in custody, the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office shared in a Facebook post.

Michael Forsythe was caught in Orlando within 24 hours of robbing the bank, SCSO said. The agency didn’t say what charges he’s facing, yet.

He was taken into custody with help from the FBI and the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force.

The suspect went into the bank and demanded cash from a teller, the sheriff’s office said. During the interaction, he implied that he had a gun.

After he was given the cash, he left the bank and headed east on foot.
