Armed Bank Robber Targeted Wells Fargo In Sarasota: Sheriff

SARASOTA, FL — An armed bank robber walked away with an unspecified amount of cash after robbing the Wells Fargo at 3625 Bee Ridge Road in Sarasota, the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office shared in a Facebook post on Wednesday just before noon.

The unknown white male suspect entered the bank and demanded cash from a teller, the sheriff’s office said. During the interaction, the he implied that he had a gun.

After he was given the cash, he left the bank and headed east on foot.

Criminal investigations detectives and members of the agency’s aviation unit, as well as a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office K9 unit, are searching for the suspect, SCSO said.
