Armed, Masked Robbers Hold Up Walgreens On N. Tamiami Trail

SARASOTA, FL – Police are attempting to identify two armed robbers who on Wednesday night held up a drug store in Sarasota.
The two suspects, both wearing black masks and wielding handguns, entered Walgreens at 3535 North Tamiami Trail at approximately 11 p.m. and demanded money, the Sarasota Police Department said today.
"The suspects demanded the store employee give them all of the money from the cash register," police said.

The pair allegedly took the entire cash drawer, containing an undisclosed amount of cash, fled on foot west toward Norwood Court and possibly left the area in an unknown vehicle, police said.
Witnesses described the suspects as:

- black male or female, 5 feet 10 inches tall with an average build, and wearing black pants, a black mask, black hoodie and blue shoes.
- black female, 5 feet 6 inches with a heavy build, wearing black pants, a black mask, a black hoodie and tan boots.
No was one injured in the incident.
