Favorite 'Intersections' Sculpture Selected
The Sarasota Public Art Committee has selected Dennis Kowal's "Fractured Migration" to be a downtown permanent fixture and winner of the 'Intersections' project. The city commission will have the final vote.
A year-long art project, , is nearing its end.
On Tuesday the Sarasota Public Art Committee gave its recommendation for Dennis Kowal's 'Fractured Migration' sculpture to be permanent fixture in downtown Sarasota.
Kowal's piece is one of 12 the committee chose from.

The project , seven of which were created by Sarasota artists.
The installations began in October 2010 and the pieces will be on display through this month.

Next, the city commission, with the recommendation from the Public Art Committee and the community, will vote one sculpture to become part of the city's permanent art collection.
City officials were hoping the attractions would be a walking tour that residents and visitors would stroll through downtown.
The top three choices from the art committee were.
