Auto Burglary Caught on Video

The Sarasota Police Department could use a little help identifying a man it says broke into two cars recently.

The crime in question occurred Aug. 25 around 4 a.m. in the 3200 block of Old Oak Drive, an email to media from the department said. The man was caught on surveillance breaking into two cars.

Since the video is fuzzy, police do not have a strong description of their suspect. He does, however, have a tattoo on each arm in the bicep area.

Since more than half of all auto burglaries in Sarasota involve unlocked cars, police want to remind residents to lock their doors. That includes doors on their homes.
