Bicyclist Killed In Osprey Crash On US 41: Florida Highway Patrol
A bicyclist was hit by two vehicles while riding on U.S. 41 in Osprey on Monday night, Florida Highway Patrol said.
OSPREY, FL — A bicyclist riding on south on U.S. 41 in Osprey was killed after being hit by two vehicles Monday night, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.
The bicyclist, a 61-year-old Sarasota man, was hit by a pick-up truck just before 9 p.m. He was riding in the outside lane of U.S. 41, south of Bay Acres Avenue, at the time of the crash, the agency said.
The force of the crash threw the victim from his bicycle. After he landed on the road, he was hit by a car, FHP said.

The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
The truck’s driver, a 61-year-old Osprey man, and the car’s driver, a 67-year-old Osprey woman, were uninjured, the agency said.
