Bicyclist Killed In Sarasota Hit-And-Run Crash: Police

SARASOTA, FL — A bicyclist was killed in a hit-and-run crash while riding across University Parkway in Sarasota on Friday.

The crash happened around 8:20 p.m. Friday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The 65-year-old cyclist was riding south on North Tuttle Avenue, police said. As the cyclist attempted to cross the travel lanes of University Parkway, they were struck by a vehicle traveling westbound in the center lane of University Parkway.

The cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
