TAMPA BAY, FL — Looking for something fun to do this weekend in the Tampa Bay area? There’s something for every interest — LGBTQ events, a showing of art by an astronaut, a cupcake contest, a murder mystery show.

Big Gay Weekend

Sarasota’s Big Gay Weekend runs Friday through Sunday and events include a kickoff happy hour, a pride luau, a pool party, drag bingo and more.

Space for Art

This art exhibit opens Friday, 4 to 7 p.m., at Safety Harbor’s Syd Entel Galleries and features original paintings, prints and jewelry by astronaut Nicole Stott.

Shark Tooth Festival

The inaugural Shark Tooth Festival takes place Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Sarasota’s Robarts Arena. The event features displays, vendors, activities and educational displays.

Indoor/Outdoor Flea Market

The Holiday Lakes Estates Civics Association hosts an indoor/outdoor flea market Saturday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event features local artists, vintage sellers, plants, fishing gear, collectibles, baked goods and more.

Great St. Pete Cupcake Contest

The Morean Arts Center hosts its citywide search for St. Pete’s best cupcake Saturday, noon to 3 p.m.

Halfway There: A Celebration of Beer

This celebration of beer, which takes place Saturday, 1 to 4 p.m., at The Coliseum in St. Pete marks the midpoint to Tampa Bay Beer Week

Gecko Ball

The annual Gecko Balltakes place Saturday, 6 to 10 p.m., at the Gulfport Casino Ballroom. This year’s theme is “Around the World in 80 Geckos.”

Wearable Art 17

Now in its 17th year, this Wearable Art fashion show takes place Saturday, 7 to 11 p.m., at the Dunedin Fine Arts Center. Creators include Mark Byrne, the Bay to Bay Collective, Olga Saretsky + Kikimora Studio, Artist and Now, Mama, Johnny Hunt and more.

Murder She Wrote

This murder mystery show — “Murder on Budget Cruise Lines” — takes place Sunday, 5 p.m., at Harold Seltzer's Steakhouse in Port Richey.
