Boat Caught Fire In Intracoastal Waterway: Venice Police
A boat caught fire Tuesday morning in the Intracoastal Waterway behind the 200 block of Rio Terra, the Venice Police Department said.

VENICE, FL — A boat caught fire Tuesday morning in the Intracoastal Waterway behind the 200 block of Rio Terra, the Venice Police Department wrote in a Facebook post.
Firefighters responded to the flaming 20- to 25-foot cuddy cabin boat just after 10 a.m.
A deputy with the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office’s Marine Unit rescued a man, the vessel’s owner, from the boat and brought him safely to the Marina Park Boat Ramp near the Venice Train Depot, police said. There were no injuries in the blaze.

The fire was extinguished by Venice Fire Rescue. Its cause is unknown.
Sea Tow Venice also assisted at the scene.
