Body Found Floating Face Up In Sarasota County Waters: Sheriff

SARASOTA COUNTY, FL — Deputies are investigating a man’s body that was found floating face up near a line of mangrove trees in a Sarasota County waterway Sunday morning.

Kaitlyn Perez, community affairs director for the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office, told Patch that a citizen found the body around 11:30 a.m.

The victim, who was floating in about two feet of water, hasn’t been identified yet.

There aren’t many other details available, as the investigation is ongoing, Perez said. "We don't have much."

The Sheriff’s Underwater Recovery Force (SURF) is assisting with the investigation.
