Body Washes Up On Lido Beach, Police Seek Help Identifying Woman
Sarasota police are investigating the death of a woman whose body washed up on Lido Beach Tuesday night.
SARASOTA, FL — Sarasota police are investigating the death of a woman whose body washed up on Lido Beach Tuesday night and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying her.
Just after 9 p.m., officers received a call that a body had washed ashore near the Lido Beach Pavilion at 400 Benjamin Franklin Drive in Sarasota, police said in a news release.
There were no obvious signs of foul play and police said they don’t suspect foul play. The District 12 Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the cause of death.

The woman is believed to be in her 50s or 60s, police said. Witnesses last saw her on the beach just after 8 p.m. Tuesday wearing a gray shirt with the words “Broken Horn Saddlery” written on it and blue shorts.
Detectives asks anyone who has a loved one who they haven’t heard from recently that fits this description to call the agency’s Criminal Investigations Division at 941-263-6070.
