Throb: A Great New Nightclub

is a great new nightclub serving LGBT community located at 2201 Industrial Blvd. It is gay owned and operated.

Will and Ed have been going to club since its offcial opening on New Year's Eve where a contestant from the television show, Rupaul's Drag Race, Carmen Carrera performed.

Throb is always a good time. We catch up friends, listen to great music, watch a terrific drag show, catch a performance by a live band and play pool or Wii.

Throb combines the best of a New York nightclub with Sarasota friendliness. It's a large space with a lot of room to move around. An elegant wraparound bar with plenty of comfortable barstools greet you as enter the club. There are pool tables and a Wii to left. 

A second room with beautiful chandliers hanging from the vaulted ceiling features a bar, high-top tables, comfortable seating areas, a performance stage, large dance floor and a DJ booth. The sound system and lighting provide a terrific ambiance and Kool vibe.

There is always something exciting happening at Throb.  

Thursday night featured two fun events a pool tournament and wonderful live performance by the group Halcyon.

Edwin played in the pool tournament that included a variety of skill levels. There was a mixture of both women and men playing for fun — not just to win.

There was a great feeling of community comaderie and people helping each other to play better and enjoy the game. Edwin played some great games and actually came out as the winner.
