Universal Window Solutions Opens New 10,000 Sq Ft Design Center

Brothers Bob and Rocky Smith have grown Universal Window Solutions into a new 25,000 square foot building that houses a state of the art 10,000 square foot customer design center. The showroom is located just off US 301 at 2502 81st Place E
in Sarasota, FL.

“There is nothing else like this new design center in the industry; we are breaking ground,” said Bob Smith, co-owner and CEO of the Sarasota based window and door company. “Homeowners can look through a catalog or browse products online, but it just doesn’t compare to actually seeing and touching a 10 foot tall iron door or a 12 by 32 foot sliding glass door to ascertain its quality,” Smith noted.

The design center features 185 full size displays, more than 25 exterior colors and a huge variety of products from entry level to high end.

“Whether it’s a builder looking to show a client options, an architect looking for design ideas, or a customer who is remodeling or building their dream home, the design center is a great place to actually see what you are getting before installation,” said Smith.

Universal Window Solutions provides product to new home builders or to consumers looking to remodel their homes. “We have actually seen a dramatic increase in our customers who are remodeling,” said Rocky Smith, co-owner of the company. “It has become 50% of our business. Add that to the rapidly recovering new home market, and the timing was perfect for us to open this design center,” he said.

Bob and Rocky Smith are second-generation Manatee County natives who have been selling and installing windows and doors since 1985. In 2000, they purchased Universal Window Solutions, which had been in operation since 1981.  Together the brothers have grown the staff and the company tremendously. In the past six months they have hired four new employees and they are looking to hire seven more in the next 30 days. “We are looking for good people in all areas - from accounting to sales and operations,” said Bob Smith.
