Bradenton Man Charged In Sarasota Shooting That Injures 2: Police
Two people were injured in a shooting at 23rd Street and Dixie Avenue in Sarasota Saturday night, police said.
SARASOTA, FL — A Bradenton man faces charges in a shooting that left two people injured in a Sarasota Saturday night.
Yalik Miller, 24, has been charged with aggravated battery with a firearm and aggravated assault with a weapon without intent to kill, according to a Sarasota police news release.
Just before 8:30 p.m. Saturday, police responded to a shooting at the intersection of 23rd Street and Dixie Avenue.

There, one of the suspects was detained and two other men were taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries from the shooting, police said.
Officers believe Miller started shooting at a group of men in the area after an argument.

Based on statements taken during their investigation, officers found probable cause to charge Miller with aggravated battery with a firearm because he intentionally shot one of the victims, SPD said.
They also found probable cause to charge him with aggravate assault with a weapon without intent to kill because he “intentionally threatened, either by word or act, to do violence against the second victim,” police said.
