Bradenton Man Killed Crossing Stickney Point Road In Sarasota: FHP

SARASOTA, FL — A Bradenton man was killed while crossing State Road 72/Stickney Point Road in Sarasota Friday night, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.

The 63-year-old was crossing the road near U.S. 41/Tamiami Trail around 8:40 p.m. when he stepped in front of a pickup truck traveling north.

The truck, driven by a 21-year-old Sarasota woman, hit the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene, FHP said.

The woman was uninjured in the crash, which remains under investigation.
