Pacific Counter Opens Its Doors In Sarasota

St. Pete-based fast-casual restaurant Pacific Counter, known for serving sushi burritos and poke bowls, opened a location in Sarasota last month. The new eatery is at 4942 S. Tamiami Trail, #500.

Our guests really wanted fresh, high-quality food, they wanted it prepared accurately and they wanted it consistently and quickly,” partner Tanner Loebel told SRQ magazine.

The new location also has a technology upgrade: optional self-service kiosks for ordering quickly.

Brass Tap Expands into Manatee, Sarasota Counties

The Brass Tap craft beer chain is expanding into Manatee and Sarasota counties with new locations planned for Parrish, Lakewood Ranch and Sarasota, according to the Bradenton Herald.

Each bar usually measures about 3,200 square feet and offers a rotating menu of 60 craft and domestic beers, a full bar, and food.

Tzeva Launches Charity Dinner Series

Tzeva, a restaurant at the Art Ovation Hotel, is launching a new charity dinner series, “Tzeva for Sarasota,” Monday.
In honor of Veterans Day, the restaurant is partnering with Children of Fallen Soldiers, and 20 percent of dinner and lunch proceeds that day will be donated to the organization, according to a news release from Tzeva.

The nonprofit, founded in October 2003, helps military children and disabled and wounded veterans. This includes providing emotional support, college scholarships, morale-boosting, mental well-being and children’s enrichment programs.

Lunch is served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday at Tzeva, while dinner is served from 5 to 10 p.m.

Miller’s Ale House Opens in East Bradenton

A new Miller’s Ale House opened its doors Monday in East Bradenton, a master-planned community developed by Heritage Harbour, the Sarasota Herald-Tribune reported. It’s located at 7175 State Road 64 E.

At 7,000-square feet, the restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating for more than 200 people. It also features the chain’s updated design, more than 60 televisions and a Florida room where the exterior walls can be raised in nicer weather.

Michelle’s Brown Bag Cafe Moving into New Location

Michelle’s Brown Bag Cafe, currently located at 1819 Main Street in Sarasota, is relocating to Burns Court in February, the restaurant wrote in a Facebook post.

The restaurant will be moving into new digs at 630 Orange Ave., the former home of Fresh Start Cafe, according to Restaurants in Sarasota.
