
Karla
Karla Sparks is an accomplished vocalist and entertainer. A native of Michigan, she began singing and performing at the age of three. Karla was born into a musical family where both parents sang exceptionally well. Her father was the musical director in their church. Karla studied piano, guitar and drums and performed up and down the southwest coast of Florida as a duo for fifteen years.
Karla also graduated with high honors in math and science from The University of West Florida and taught math and science in Sarasota while raising her children.
Karla was encouraged to start singing professionally again from outstanding musicians in the Sarasota area like Brenda Watty, Shari Morningstar, Eddie Tobin and Billy Marcus. Today, Karla entertains audiences across the west coast of Florida with a dynamic, genre-spanning repertoire. Her shows weave together jazz, blues, classic standards, pop, country, and rock. Audiences love her engaging renditions of iconic hits by Patsy Cline, Carole King, Linda Ronstadt, and Karen Carpenter.
