The Capital Grille Plans Sarasota Opening Soon

Steak lovers don’t have much longer to wait for The Capital Grille to makes its University Town Center debut.

The restaurant plans to start feeding customers with an appetite for dry aged, hand-carved steaks next Friday, Oct. 17. In addition to steaks, the eatery serves up a number of other dishes, including fish and seafood, and it boasts an award-winning wine list.

“Sarasota’s thriving business community, coupled with University Town Center’s retail focus, has provided an ideal location to introduce The Capital Grille to the area,” said Timothy Fanning, Managing Partner, The Capital Grille Sarasota in a media release. “We embrace the opportunity to provide guests with our unique dining experience and eagerly await the restaurant’s opening.”

The restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner seven days a week. Its “Plates” lunch menu offers a choice of soup or salad, along with an entrée for $18. The wine list features more than 350 choices, selected personally by master sommelier George Miliotes. The list includes wines under $30, along with prized vintages.

“For those with an especially discerning taste in wine, The Capital Grille offers a private wine locker membership,” the media release said. “Wine enthusiasts have the option to lease a wine locker, personalized with an inscribed brushed silver nameplate. The Capital Grille is pleased to acquire desired bottles for guests, ensuring that they will always have their favorite vintages available.”

The new restaurant can seat up to 276 guests. It will be open from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Sunday, and for dinner Monday through Thursday from 4 to 10 p.m. Dinner hours are 4 to 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and from 4 to 9 p.m. on Sundays.
