‘Chicago,’ Shark Week Beach Bash, The Fancy Flea: FL Weekend Events

TAMPA BAY, FL — Looking for something fun to do this weekend in the Tampa Bay area? There’s something for every interest — Sarasota Improv Festival, The Fancy Flea, a Craft Beer and Wine Festival, Barbie-themed art shows.

Presented by Dingbat Theatre Project in Venice, “Chicago” the musical will run Wednesday through Saturday through Aug. 6.

Shark Week Beach Bash

Postcard Inn on the Beach in St. Pete Beach celebrates Shark Week Friday afternoon through Sunday with DJs and music, a shark costume contest, and more.

The Fancy Flea

Shop indoors Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at RP Funding Center in Lakeland. Vintage vendors will be selling antiques, furniture, art, home decor, gifts, clothing and more.

Sarasota Improv Festival

The premier festival of its kind in the southeastern United States, the Sarasota Improv Festival brings together top improvisers from across the country and around the world for one whirlwind weekend of spontaneous comedy. Taking place Thursday through Saturday, the 13th Annual Sarasota Improv Festival features more than 20 troupes, 80 artists and 29 performances.

New Port Richey Rotaract’s Craft Beer and Wine Festival

Sample craft beer, wine and food from local businesses Saturday, 5 to 8 p.m., at Sims Park in New Port Richey. Tickets are $30. Proceeds will benefit the Rotaract Club’s little lending libraries and children’s initiatives in the community.

Pink Festival

Celebrate the “Barbie” movie at B&B Theaters - The Grove in Wesley Chapel Friday, 7 p.m. There will be a live DJ, prizes, full bar, local vendors and a karaoke contest.

ZZ Top in concert

Classic rock band ZZ Top takes the stage at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre in Tampa Saturday night.

Back to School Bash

Polk Sheriff’s Charities Inc. hosts its Back to School Bash Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Bartow Ford. 1,000 backpacks filled with school supplies will be given to children. There will be face painting, balloon artists, food trucks and games.

Mermaid Barbie: A Night of Art and Performance

This mermaid-themed Barbie art show features exclusive art, a Barbie fashion show, fire dancing and live painting Saturday, 7 p.m., at Coastal Creative in St. Petersburg.
