Venice Man Sentenced To 44.5 Years In FL Prison For Child Porn Charges: State Attorney

A Venice man was found guilty of 40 counts of child pornography possession and one count of meth possession, State Attorney Brodsky said.

SARASOTA COUNTY, FL — A Venice man was sentenced to 44.5 years in state prison for child pornography charges.

Jeffery Julius Geske was sentenced Friday after being found guilty of 40 counts of possession of child pornography and one count of possession of methamphetamine, according to a news release from State Attorney Ed Brodsky.

Geske downloaded at least 189 images of child sexual exploitation and sexual battery of children between 2017 and 2019. He used these still images to create his own movie.

He downloaded, possessed, viewed and manipulated images that showed children being sexually battered, bonded and molested. Some of these children were under 5 years old, the state attorney said.

The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office was the lead investigating agency on the case, taking Geske into custody in March 2020.

“Child pornography is more than just still pictures and videos — it is the result of horrific sexual exploitation and sex acts committed on real children,” said Brice Van Elswyk, the lead prosecutor on the case. “These children are forever victimized knowing that criminals have downloaded, traded and viewed their trauma, which is why those who commit this crime should be very aware that our office will work tirelessly to prosecute them to the fullest extent the law allows.”
