Construction Begins on Fourth Residence Building at Emerson Lakes
Pelican Cove, the fourth residence building planned for Emerson Lakes, will bring 118 additional homes to the community.

Development is proceeding smoothly at Emerson Lakes, an Erickson Senior Living community coming to Lakewood Ranch, Fla., early next year. In fact, the community recently broke ground on its fourth residence building, Pelican Cove!
"The three residence buildings in Phase 1 of construction--Sandhill Point, Laguna Springs, and Mangrove Run--are close to being completely reserved," says Sales Director Adam Zubowsky. "But we know there are people on the Priority List who are planning further into the future. That's why we're so excited about Pelican Cove."
Pelican Cove will bring around 118 additional homes--including one-bedroom, one-and-a-half-bath and two-bedroom, two-bath designs--with underbuilding parking to the sought-after community. It will also boast convenient access to a range of amenities, including a fitness center, creative arts studio, and several restaurants.

Making progress
Construction began in 2024 on Sandhill Point, Emerson Lakes' first residence building, which is slated to open in early 2027. Laguna Springs and Mangrove Run are both on track to open in 2027 as well, bringing a total of 315 homes to the community.

With Pelican Cove slated to open in late 2028, prospective residents will have the unique opportunity to visit completed residences in Sandhill Point and see on-campus amenities.
"Sandhill Point reservists are so excited to move in," says Zubowsky. "We're eager to welcome visitors on campus next year."
When Sandhill Point opens, Priority List members will be invited to exclusive events like a Parade of Homes, where they'll get to see a variety of floor plans firsthand, including one-bedroom, one-and-a-half-bath and two-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath layouts.
"These events will make it even easier for prospective residents to imagine their future living space and how their furniture will fit," explains Zubowsky.
Amenities galore
Members will also be invited to tour amenities in Coral Ridge, Emerson Lakes' two-story, 50,000-square-foot clubhouse, which is slated to open in 2027 as well. Coral Ridge will boast a game room, card room, creative arts studio, and spaces for club meetings.
The clubhouse will also feature a fitness center that leads to an outdoor area with a meditation garden and an outdoor pool, complete with lap lanes, a zero-entry ramp, and a spa tub. Exercise classes led by certified instructors will be held both indoors in the fitness studio and poolside.
Coral Ridge will also provide plenty of dining options. The first-floor venue will offer light breakfast and lunch, served indoors or by the pool. Cocktails will be available at night for those looking to wind down after a busy day of activity.
The clubhouse will also be home to two restaurants. Water's Edge, on the lower level, will offer cafe-style dining, while Breeze Point, on the second floor with an additional bar area, will accept reservations for table service. Both restaurants will feature more than 25 rotating entree options, and executive chefs will update menus regularly.
Informational events
"A variety of informational events are planned for 2026, too," adds Zubowsky. "There will be lots of opportunities to speak with and learn from the community's executive team, for example."
Emerson Lakes' executive director, medical director, dining director, and resident life director--among others--will share community insights and answer questions directly from Priority List members.
"Luncheons will allow members to sample meals from the restaurants," he says. "All of the events are designed to help prospective residents see themselves living here and calling Emerson Lakes home. We want to provide as many experiences and resources as possible."
Join the Priority List
If you're interested in moving to Emerson Lakes--during Phase 1 or Phase 2 of construction--Zubowsky recommends joining the Priority List.
Members receive information about community happenings, such as new building announcements and construction updates, long before they are communicated to the general public.
Floor plan books, detailing home layouts and features, are shared with Priority List members as well. The floor plan book for Pelican Cove will be available later this year.
"In addition to receiving all these benefits, members save a spot in line for their desired floor plan," Zubowsky notes. "Some members are planning for the future, but it's not uncommon for timelines to change. If you're on the Priority List, you will be notified of availability in one of our buildings first. If you're ready to move to Emerson Lakes sooner than expected, this is the best way to secure your future here!"
