Vaccination Clinics Starting At Sarasota Square Mall Thursday

The mall, located off U.S. 41, is a "central location," making it convenient for more county residents, a DOH representative said.

SARASOTA COUNTY, FL — The Florida Department of Health in Sarasota County is moving its coronavirus vaccination clinics to Sarasota Square Mall, G. Steve Huard, DOH public information officer, said in a video released Wednesday.

First- and second-dose vaccinations will begin at the site, which is located at 8201 S Tamiami Trail in Sarasota, starting Thursday, he said.

“It’s conveniently located off of U.S. 41, so it makes it a very central location for everybody in Sarasota County,” he said.

As doses become available in Sarasota County, vaccination appointments are being offered to those who previously registered through the county's new Everbridge vaccination system, which creates a queue. Those registered to receive a vaccination, will remain on the list until they’re vaccinated. When doses are available, they'll be contacted by the county to set up an appointment.

"Once you register into this system, you will go into a queue, so you don't have to register again," Huard said during a previous press conference.
