Update: Sarasota Police Headquarters Evacuation Lifted

The Sarasota Police Department headquarters and another building were evacuated following the discovery of a “suspicious package” Monday morning.

The department’s Explosive Materials Unit responded with a bomb removal robot to investigate the package and discovered a laptop, computer monitor and tower inside, the agency wrote in an email to media.

An all clear was given just before noon.

It is still unclear where the package came from.
