SARASOTA, FL — Drivers and pedestrians are asked to avoid the area of The Westin Sarasota hotel at 100 Marina View Drive on Monday afternoon, the Sarasota Police Department said.

The agency said that there’s “police activity” in the area, near the intersection of U.S. 41 and Palm Avenue, in a Facebook post around 3:30 p.m.

“There is no danger to the public, and this is an isolated incident,” police said.
