Drug Sting Leads to Multiple Arrests in Sarasota
Sarasota County Animal Services seized eight adult Pitbulls and eight Pitbull puppies suspected to be bred and used as fighting dogs, Sarasota PD said.

On January 13, 2011 the Sarasota Police Department Narcotics Unit executed two search warrants for narcotics at 1351 15th Street and 1871 33rd Street, according to a Sarasota Police Department press release.
According to the release, in both search warrants, a total of six individuals were arrested for numerous charges including armed trafficking in cocaine, possession of rock cocaine with intent to sell, possession of controlled substance and possession of marijuana.
Five firearms (1 Stolen), 8.6 ounces of Cocaine, 37 grams of Marijuana, and $11,578.00 in U.S. Currency was seized, according to police. Also, Sarasota County Animal Services seized eight adult Pitbulls and eight Pitbull puppies suspected to be bred and used as fighting dogs.

The arrest at 1351 15th street, seized: 3.2 ounces of cocaine, 37 grams marijuana, three firearms (one stolen), $5,628.00 and 2002 Dodge Pickup truck.
- Carl Brookins, 36, was arrested and charged with armed trafficking in cocaine and possession of marijuana over 20 grams.
- Terence Grant, 23, was arrested and charge with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of ammunition by a convicted felon and possession of marijuana under 20 grams.
- Bryon Mitchell, 19, was arrested an charged with possession of cocaine with intent to sell and deliver.
