DUI Wolfpack Set to Prowl

Motorists who want to kick off the weekend by tipping back a few too many may want to think twice before putting their vehicles into drive.

The Florida Highway Patrol has announced plans to conduct a DUI Wolfpack Detail on Friday, Aug. 7, starting at 11 p.m. throughout Sarasota County.

“FHP sets up such details to proactively remove impaired drivers from the roadways and ultimately enhance the safety of the motoring public,” Lt. Gregory Bueno wrote in an email to media. “Troopers conducting the detail will be mobile, monitoring traffic, in an effort to maximize their visibility and effectiveness in removing impaired drivers from the roadways in Sarasota County, Florida.”

It is unclear just what roadways troopers plan to target or how long they intend to operate the detail.
