Euthanasia Recommended for Dog That Bit 10-Month-Old
The owner will have a chance to contest Sarasota County's decision.

A pit bull mix dog named Fudge faces humane euthanasia following a Friday attack on a 10-month-old Sarasota boy.
The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office announced the decision of the county’s animal services director Monday morning. Fudge was confiscated from a home on Pine Terrace drive on Friday following the attack.
“The dog was initially impounded for safety reasons Friday, but based on the Animal Services investigation, the severity of the infant’s injuries and the dog’s three prior bite cases, the Director determined confiscating the animal and ordering humane euthanasia is the appropriate course of action,” sheriff’s office spokeswoman Wendy Rose wrote in an email to media.
