Marilyn Rothschild was trained in classical drawing and painting at the Atelier Lack in Minneapolis, and studied life drawing at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. She built on this traditional foundation with "free-spirited experimentation" in multiple mediums, including acrylics, collage and textiles. Over the past decade, she studied portrait and figure sculpture with various mentors, including local sculptors Jack Dowd and Pedro Cobian. Her sculptures are in collections in Oregon, Minnesota, Texas, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C.
