Ford Tri-Motor Aircraft Tour Stop

The Ford Tri-Motor aircraft was the first all metal airliner. This aircraft, built in 1929 was the first airplane put in service with what would be known as Eastern Airlines. It has been restored to immaculate condition and will be available for flights around the Sarasota/Bradenton Area.

In 1927, the Ford Tri-Motor was part of Transcontinental and Western Air's (TWA) route from New York to Los Angeles. Passengers took a combination of overnight sleepers on the railroad and flights in the Ford to cross the country in 48 hours.

Visitors will be able to see a video of the Ford Tr-Motor showing films from the late 20's to early 30's.

Several Model "A" Ford cars will be on display along with the latest model's.

The aircraft is based in Oshkosh WI, and this is the first time a Ford tour has reached this far south. So it came as a nice surprise when we received a phone call late last week asking if our chapter would consider hosting a tour stop.
