GuitarSarasota Presents Guitar Dou Taliesan Dou

GuitarSarasota presents Classical Guitar Duo Taliesan Duo in a mini-concert meeting at Art Center Sarasota.

GuitarSarasota features artists with a half hour performance followed by a brief Q&A session and then a short artist's reception. The GuitarSarasota Mini-Concert Meeting Series at Art Center Sarasota is a free event and open to the public. This event is sponsored by GuitarSarasota and its Members. 

The Taliesan Duo was formed in 2002 by Zachary Johnson and Michael McCallie. Since then, they have performed at Stetson University, Yale University, The Yale Museum of British Art, and for the Connecticut Guitar Society. The duo formed while they were both students at Stetson University. They would continue on to Yale University, where they would continue their work as a duo. Recently, Zachary Johnson has completed his Doctorate of Guitar Performance from Florida State University, and Michael McCallie has begun his Doctorate at Florida State University.  Award-winning classical guitarist Zachary Johnson, performed recitals in venues across the United States such as Yale Sprague Memorial Hall, New England Conservatory’s Jordan Hall, Northeastern University’s Fenway Center, San Francisco Conservatory of Music’s Recital Hall, and as a selected performer for the Stetson International Guitar Festival. Johnson received a full scholarships to Stetson University, Yale University and Florida State University. He studied with the renowned teachers Dr. Stephen Robinson, Benjamin Verdery and Bruce Holzman. After receiving his Bachelors in performance from Stetson University, Zachary Johnson receive his Masters in performance from Yale University. He completed his Doctoral studies at Florida State University, where he was selected as a Teachers Assistant to Mr. Holzman. LAP Lambert Academic Publishing recently published his doctoral treatise, “The Solo Guitar Works of Sir Richard Rodney Bennett”.
