“To photograph something is merely to capture its pattern of reflected light.” This class will cover lighting from pre-capture to print. Learn to See light, understand it and create it indoors and out. We’ll cover natural light as well as artificial lighting like flash and incandescent light. We’ll go over how your camera sees light and how to use its metering system to adjust for different lighting conditions. The class will cover how to understand histograms and using them as a tool as well as their use in post processing adjustments. This will be geared towards photography but a lot of the lessons will also apply towards art in general. I will incorporate hands on as well as studies; models and studio lighting to help understand the principals.
