Explore the fascination of turning flat paper into sculptural 3-d or textural surfaces using simple tools. This class experiments with multiple applications of piercing, scoring, folding, and other manipulations of paper. These methods can later be used in combination with other art forms as a decorative element; create 3-d work, use as light screens and luminaries.
If students have any of the following they can bring them. Basic items are provided: paper types of different weights and colors, knitting needles ...don’t need a pair, an awl, paper punches , dress maker’s tracing wheel, any other items they might have for piercing.
