The annual Warbirds
over Sarasota Radio Controlled Model Airplane Meet will be held the weekend
of December 3-4 at the Sarasota Radio Control Model Club field located in
Rothenbach Park at the far East end of Bee Ridge Road.Pilots from the Southeastern
part of the US will be flying P-40 War hawks, P51 Mustangs, P-47 Thunderbolts,
P-38 Lightings and more. This is one of
the largest collections of flying Warbirds of 2011. Flying is from 9 Am till 3
PM both Saturday and Sunday.
We will be
honoring all the veterans that have been invited from the different service
clubs in Sarasota.
There will
be a “Teddy Bear” drive again this year that will be donated to the Sarasota
Police and Sheriff’s departments to give to children who may be hurt or
traumatized from auto accidents or domestic violence.

The public
is invited to this FREE event. There are
lots of areas for parking and 4 large sun shelters with fans. Bring your own lawn chair for the best
seating. Food Concessions are at the
field and the Sarasota County Rothenbach Park is handicap friendly. For more
