Lighting of the Fleet at 6:15 p.m., an annual tradition at the Sarasota Yacht Club, will kick off the holiday season. Members are encouraged to decorate their boats for the holidays and, at 6:15 p.m., all boats in the yacht club marina turn on their lights, which can be seen shining across the Bay.
The event includes a visit from Santa Claus. Singers from the Sarasota Youth Opera Chorus, beginning at 6 p.m. and Big T and the Tornadoes will play at 7 p.m.

There will be a dinner service, including vegetarian and children’s options. and awards will be presented to the best decorated boats in the marina.
Non-members can easily view the lighting from any location on the marina.
