DevysOne Premium Entertainment proudly presents The WordPlay Cafe at The Floribbean Restaurant in downtown Sarasota. The WordPlay Cafe is an opportunity for lovers of spoken word poetry, also called open-mic poetry, to collectively share, enjoy and participate in the appreciation of the art in its many forms.
“Spoken word poetry grabbed me by the Heart when I was living in Atlanta nearly a year ago”, said DevysOne Premium Entertainment founder Michael Paragon. “After I returned to Sarasota, I couldn't find any venues here that were doing open-mic poetry to any high degree...so I found myself driving to Tampa instead!”

The seed was planted then to create this platform for others to enjoy and celebrate this artform here in Sarasota. Painters, sculptors and musicians are invited to share their talents with those who attend The WordPlay Cafe as well.

“We love it here at The Floribbean Restaurant. It's a perfect location here on Main Street,” said founder Paragon. “It's centrally located and has a beautifully appointed and spacious interior with friendly and inviting staff. We will continue coming here every Wednesday and encourage everyone to spend an evening of poetry with us that can change their lives.”
