Reports have surfaced that indicate the business tycoon may have listened in on guests who stayed at his Palm Beach Mar-a-Lago resort in the mid-2000s.
Six former employees at the 126-room mansion that Trump rents out to members and guests told BuzzFeed Trump kept a telephone console in his private apartment at the resort. That console acted like a switchboard.

Four of the former employees, who were not named by BuzzFeed due to nondisclosure agreements, “said that Trump listened in on phone calls,” the website reported. The eavesdropping reportedly involved calls between staff members as well as calls between staff members and guests.
Not surprisingly, the Trump campaign has adamantly denied the allegations.
“This is totally and completely untrue,” Hope Hicks, Trump's spokeswoman, told BuzzFeed.
Eavesdropping allegations aside, Trump has been taking a beating in recent polls when pitted against the presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.

Florida’s Saint Leo University Polling Institute recently conducted a survey that showed Clinton ahead by 44.9 percent to Trump’s 37 percent.
The online survey was conducted between June 10-16, involving 1,001 adults across the nation, including 930 likely voters. The survey was conducted right after Clinton won the California state primary, becoming the presumptive Democratic nominee. It was also ongoing at the time of the June 12 terrorist attack in Orlando.
Since Saint Leo is a Florida-based university, pollsters also conducted a separate survey in the Sunshine State during that time frame. A total of 500 adults in Florida were included in the poll, with 459 likely voters represented, Saint Leo said. On the state level, voters favored Clinton over Trump by 50.1 percent to 35.3.
In the national survey, 62.6 percent of likely voters gave Trump unfavorable ratings. Clinton’s unfavorable rating was 54.7 percent. Florida voters felt about the same, with 66 percent giving Trump unfavorable ratings and 53.4 percent giving Clinton unfavorable ratings.
Here are some of the statements about Trump that respondents were presented with and their responses:
- Donald Trump is arrogant, uncivil and ego-driven – 75.9 agreed nationally; 75.4 percent agreed in Florida
- Donald Trump has demonstrated, in his comments, that he is sexist – 61.7 percent agreed nationally; 63.8 percent agreed in Florida
- Donald Trump is just as he describes himself – successful, a leader and intelligent – 44.8 percent agreed nationally, 43.6 percent agreed in Florida
- I support Donald Trump’s position on immigration – 44.6 percent agreed nationally; 43.6 percent agreed in Florida
- Donald Trump is an authentic Christian – 21.6 percent agreed nationally; 24 percent agreed in Florida
