Felon Found With Guns, 1,300 Rounds Of Ammunition At Home: Sheriff
A convicted felon faces charges after multiple firearms, more than 1,300 rounds of ammunition were found in his Sarasota home, SCSO said.
SARASOTA, FL — A convicted felon in Sarasota faces weapons charges after guns and more than 1,300 rounds of ammunition were found at his home, according to a news release from the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office.
Michael Scheb, 34, was arrested Wednesday following a residential search warrant and charged with single counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of ammunition by a convicted felon.
Detectives began their investigation in early April when they received information that Scheb was in possession of several firearms at his home in the 4000 block of Crockers Lake Boulevard in Sarasota, SCSO said.

On Wednesday, with assistance from members of the agency’s SWAT Team and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, detectives executed a search warrant on the apartment and recovered four handguns, one rifle, one shotgun and more than 1,300 rounds of ammunition.
He was arrested without incident and taken to the Sarasota County Correctional Facility. He remains in custody without bond.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending, the sheriff’s office said.
Scheb has 11 prior convictions including child neglect without bodily harm, drug possession, theft, dealing in stolen property, driving while license suspended and violation of probation.
