The Sarasota man lied about multiple jobs, including 22 real estate businesses, while receiving disability benefits, the U.S. DOJ said.

SARASOTA, FL — A Sarasota man pleaded guilty to theft of government property after the United States Railroad Retirement Benefits (USRRB) overpaid him in disability benefits, according to a U.S. Department of Justice news release.

Allen R. Jenkins, 68, faces up to 10 years in federal prison. His sentencing date hasn’t been set.

Jenkins, who received USRRB disability benefits, was actively working multiple jobs during when he received these funds and didn’t report the work as required, the DOJ said.
