Florida Man Donates 100 Gallons of Blood

An 84-year-old man donated the equivalent of 66 human bodies-worth of blood and saved 800 lives over the last 36 years.

A Florida man has donated his 100th gallon of blood, according to WPBF.

Harold Mendenhall, 84, began donating blood nearly forty years ago after his wife Frankie died from breast cancer. WPBF reported that since then, he’s given the equivalent of 66 human bodies.

“You don’t know who will be receiving your platelets or your whole blood, and that’s immaterial,” Mendenhall said. “You just know someone needs it.”
