Huge Florida Shark Swarm Caught on Film

The massive gathering was spotted near Vero Beach in the Sebastian Inlet.

Don’t go into the water.

That famous tagline from ā€œJawsā€ also fits a recent occurrence in Sebastian Inlet. It seems a photographer from Indian River by Air spotted a massive swarm of sharks Thursday just south of the inlet. While the company that takes photos from a powered parachute was able to catch the impressive sight on camera, representatives say they’re not exactly sure what kind of sharks they managed to photograph. What they are sure of is that there were a lot of them – a whole lot.

Photographers from Indian River by Air posted three shots of their impressive sighting on their Facebook page, asking fans to chime in on what types of sharks were in the swarm.

Indian River By Air’s shots were taken just one day before a man was bitten by a shark in the Jupiter Inlet, about 80 miles south of the swarm siting.

The man was reportedly spearfishing on Friday when he was bitten in the head and torso, according to WPBF.

ā€œThere was a lot of blood on the boat. He was bleeding quite a bit. It looks like a shark had gotten him (in the torso),ā€ witness Peter Pinello told the station. You could see his wet suit was embedded in it, and it looked like it took a good chunk of it out.ā€

While it’s unclear exactly what type of shark bit the fisherman, some are saying it was a bull shark.

At last report, the man was in stable condition.

Shark attacks are not entirely uncommon in Florida. Back in January, a great white reportedly attacked a fishing boat while the summer months saw a number of bites of swimmers.
