Four Cardinal Mooney Students Selected to STAR Program

Four students have been selected to participate in the Sarasota County STAR Leadership program.

STAR Leadership is a countywide program for high school students in grades 9, 10 and 11, designed to encourage and develop positive leadership qualities among the youth of Sarasota County, a news release said.

Students will participate in training focused on development of leadership skills, communication and team building skills, knowledge about civics and how to be more civically engaged. Upon completion of the training, students will be placed on a Sarasota County committee or board as a full voting member for a year, the release said.

The students, who were selected through an application process, are sophomores Emily Caldwell and Rionna Carabbia, and freshmen Davis Roddenberry and Gage Schrantz.
