FPL Employees Pitch In To Help Sarasota Girl Scouts
A team of volunteers recently spent a day beautifying the Girl Scouts of Gulfcoast Florida's Sarasota property.
SARASOTA, FL — Girl Scouts are known for pitching and helping their communities, but sometimes they need a hand, too.
That’s what a team of volunteers from Florida Power & Light Company figured when they set out plans for a March 1 community work day. All told, more than 1,500 FPL volunteers from across the state volunteered during the power company’s Power to Care Week.
One group of volunteers happened to pick the Girl Scouts of Gulfcoast Florida’s Cattlemen Road facility for their project. At the Girl Scouts’ Sarasota facility, workers spent the morning of March 1 cleaning out debris, landscaping and painting the facility.
