Full Lane Closures on US 301 This Week

Each week Sarasota Patch will update you on the county and city road construction projects.

SR 72, At Stickney Point Draw: There will be intermittent westbound right and left lane closures Wednesday, Oct. 5 and Thursday, Oct. 6, from 9 p.m. each night until 5 a.m. for bridge maintenance.

US 301, from Myrtle Street to DeSoto Road: For the rest of the work week, weather permitting, motorists traveling along US 301 in both directions may experience intermittent lane closures for the full length of the project from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. for final paving operations. Other construction activities that will be carried out during the work week without requiring lane closures includes general cleanup and curb/sidewalk repair work along the length of the project.

Bee Ridge Road, East of Honore Avenue:  There will be a inside westbound lane closure on Bee Ridge Road east of Honore Avenue through Friday, Oct. 21 from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Crews will be constructing a left turn lane.

Sarasota County Advanced Traffic Management System (Phase Two): The installation of new signal controller cabinets at 123 intersections throughout the county is ongoing and will continue through the end of 2011. Cabinets will be switched out at the following locations: along University Parkway from Airport Circle to Interstate 75 (I-75) east; U.S. 41 from Woodmere Park Boulevard to General Spaatz Boulevard; Fruitville Road from Cocoanut Avenue to I-75 east; Clark Road from Gulf Gate Mall Drive to I-75 east.
