Countdown Improv Festival

Tampa’s annual celebration of solo, duo and trio improv comedy runs through Saturday at the HCC Performing Arts Building in Ybor City. The festival features 76 improv groups from across the U.S.

Talented country artists perform Friday through Sunday at Bradenton’s Motorworks Brewing

I Care St. Pete Health and Wellness Fair

This first-of-its-kind health fair featuring local organizations and nonprofits was created to promote outreach and needed services to underserved residents in the area.The event, which takes place Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Islamic Society St. Pete, is needed more than ever as challenging economic times are forcing people to choose food over medicine and health care.

Art Yard Sale

Don’t miss the Morean Art Center’s (sometimes) annual Art Yard Sale, where you can find great deals on art and miscellaneous items–you never know what you’re going to find! Prices start at $1 and max out at $100. The sale takes place Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

SarasotaCon

This annual comic book convention and pop culture show takes place Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Sarasota’s Carlisle Conference Center. The show has over 100 vendors that cater to a wide-spectrum of interests including comic books, magazines, toys, games, movies, television, anime, manga, wrestling, cosplay, artwork, sketches and apparel plus much more. In addition, a roster of comic industry professionals and fandom-related celebrities are in attendance for attendees to meet and greet.

Gecko Crawl

The annual Gecko Crawl, a poker run taking place Saturday, 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., at locations throughout Gulfport, kicks off Gecko Season in the city. Participating locations are The Tiki Bar & Grill, Neptune Grill, Hurricane Eddies, O’Maddy’s and Gulfport Brewery + Eatery.

Hot & Fresh Art and Poetry Show Opening

Hot & Fresh is a group art and poetry show featuring 20 of the hottest Tampa Bay artists and fresh live poetry on Saturday, 7 p.m., at Bayboro Brewing Co. in St. Petersburg. The event is free and open to the public.

Hot Pants de France Concert

Hot Pants de France interprets rock and pop music — Radiohead, Van Halen, Peter Gabriel, Cheap Trick, The Go-Go’s, Oasis, Soundgarden, The Police, The Pixies, Talking Heads and Prince — in the Manouche Jazz style of Django Reinhardt. The band performs Sunday at the Fogartyville Community Media and Arts Center.
