Girl Allegedly Stabbed by Mom Still Hospitalized

Her mother remains in the Sarasota County Jail.

A Sarasota child who was allegedly stabbed by her mother on Friday remained hospitalized Monday.

ā€œAs of this morning, the little girl is still in critical, but stable condition,ā€ wrote Sarasota Police Department spokeswoman Genevieve Judge in an email to media.

The 6-year-old was stabbed around 12:30 p.m. Friday in the 2100 block of Leon Avenue. Her name is not being released.

The girl’s mother, Ashley Parker, 29, has been charged with attempted murder. She remained in the Sarasota County Jail Monday without bond. An arraignment date has been set for July 31, according to jail records.
