Goodwill Manasota Hosts Groundbreaking Ceremony for New Corporate Campus

Goodwill Manasota will host a groundbreaking event celebrating its new corporate campus on Tuesday, Nov. 12 from 4 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. at the construction site located at 2701 51st Ave E.

Once completed, the 65,000-square-foot facility will house Goodwill’s executive and administrative offices and international training center (35,000 square feet), as well as a retail store, donation center, job connection center and community room (28,000 square feet).

“Our loyal donor base and strong strategic plan makes us well-positioned for continued growth.  This expansion will mean more jobs, which is what Goodwill is all about,” said Bob Rosinsky, president & CEO of Goodwill Manasota.

Goodwill Manasota has been at its current location at 7501 15th St E. for more than 31 years.  The new facility will consolidate under one roof six offices currently located throughout Sarasota and Manatee Counties.

“By expanding business opportunities and mission services, our organization not only creates new jobs, but develops a workforce to fill them. It is a sound return on investments made to an enterprise that reuses, recycles and re-purposes,” said Rosinsky.

Construction on the facility began in September and is expected to be completed in late 2014. Local architects and contractors involved in the project include Fawley Bryant Architects, NDC Construction and Crowley Services Inc.

Goodwill plans to use this expansion as an opportunity to develop stronger community based services and to fill the gap in the array of social services already being provided in this market. It also plans to offer career services programs, job placement services, veteran resources, and services to anyone struggling to reach their goals of independence and self-sufficiency. Job seekers who wish to build a stronger resume or need help transitioning to employment will also benefit from the mission growth at the new facility.

“This site is a great location for the people we serve. It’s on the bus line, so convenience is a factor," said Rosinsky. "Goodwill continues to revitalize and make positive improvements to our community, and we are excited about creating a multi-purpose space that benefits everyone.
