Goodwill Industries International recently recognized Goodwill Manasota at their 2013 Summer Conference in San Jose, CA with an award in the Market Dominance by Share of Used Goods category.
The Market Dominance award is given to organizations that have capitalized the highest proportion of the available market of used goods. The figures are calculated by comparing the total donated goods retail (DGR) revenue to the estimated used goods market. Goodwill Manasota is listed as a medium sized agency and won for that particular category.
“We are extremely proud of our organization and the great things that we are able to do through the generosity of our community,” said Bob Rosinsky, president & CEO of Goodwill Manasota. “When people shop at Goodwill, they are helping us fund programs and provide assistance to those who need it most, and this award is a great representation of those efforts.”
During the event, Bill Parrish, the DGR consultant for Goodwill Industries International, presented Goodwill Manasota Vice President of Organizational Development, David Wells, and Vice President of Operations, Mary Lou England, with the 2012 Retail Excellence Mid-Size Territory award. The theme of “Inspire. Be Inspired.” was echoed throughout the event, and the reception began an ended with the playing of the popular Macklemore song, “Thrift Shop”, an ode to second-hand shopping.
